Discover one of our hidden gems, the Salt River. Great cutthroat fishing all season with the occassional brown trout to be had. Anglers in the know request the Salt during Oct, and Nov, for the chance to hook up with the famous Palisades reservoir, spawn run brown trout. The chance of a 24+ inch brown is always a possibility. Fish on!

We are happy to pick you up at your place of lodging anywhere in Jackson or Teton Village for your full day fishing trip, and generally we will head straight to the river, making a stop for fishing licensed on the way if need be. Please follow this link to purchase a fishing license online before the trip. https://gf.state.wy.us/elso/elsowelcome.aspx
The Salt river is a low volume river winding it’s way through Star Valley, WY, some of the most quintessential agricultural areas in the state, about a 50 minute drive from Jackson. Many banks and bushes to cast to, holding fish in their shadows, sometimes becoming a bit technical with all the structure in the river.
Your guide will provide all equipment necessary for the day. Rods, reels, flies, leader, lures, etc. Please bring your favorite rod and reel if you like, and any other equipment as well. We generally will use 5 or 6 wt, 9 foot fly rods on the Salt river.
All of our full day trips are offered in a float fishing format, two anglers and guide per drift-boat. Our drift boats are equipped with a casting station and captains chairs front and back, with the guide situated in the middle, allowing anglers to stand and fish, or sit and fish as the guide maneuvers the boat.
Our full day fishing float will travel about 5 miles on the Salt River, depending on which stretch we decide to fish.
Your guide will generally start the day with an on river casting and or skills review session if needed, and then we are off and fishing. Anglers will fish as the boat drifts under direction of your guide, with limited wading opportunities as we float mostly through private land. A delicious boat lunch to break up the day, and then back on the water.
Our day will wrap up in the early evening hours, usually back to your lodging by 7:00-7:30pm or so. We practice catch and release so plan on bringing back some great photos and unforgettable memories.
